French Immersion
FRENCH IMMERSION is a second language program designed for children whose first language is not French and who have little or no knowledge of French prior to entering the program. In the French Immersion program students are literally immersed in the French language. Almost all subjects are taught in French, with the exception of English Language Arts. The goal of the French Immersion program is to create fully bilingual graduates, who are able to function comfortably in an all-French environment. This is an intensive, yet gentle approach to second-language learning. Documents Curriculum Policy for the French Immersion Program (July 2008, 3rd edition) Elements Integrated in the Curriculum.
