French: Communication and CultureFRENCH: COMMUNICATION AND CULTURE is an optional French course for students grades 4 to 12 within the English program along with other courses.French is a course designed for all children enrolled in the English School Program in Manitoba and it can be divided into three components:The purpose of this course is to encourage the learning of French as a means of communication and to make it a part of the student's overall education. - acquire the necessary language skills to communicate in French;
- value the learning of French as a tool for personal, intellectual, and social growth;

French ImmersionFRENCH IMMERSION is a second language program designed for children whose firstlanguage is not French and who have little or no knowledge of French prior to entering theprogram.In the French Immersion program students are literally immersed in the French language. Almost all subjects are taught in French, with the exception of English Language Arts.
The goal of the French Immersion program is to create fully bilingual graduates, who are able to function comfortably in an all-French environment. This is an intensive, yet gentle approach to second-language learning.
